Local moves are short distance moves in your “local” area. A local move is a move that covers up to 100 miles in the state of California. These local moves are charged for by the hour and include 2 men or 3 men or more. If a move in California requires more than 100 miles, it is considered a long distance move and is charged for by the pound or the piece. Local moves are usually accomplished in the same day unless your local move is very large.

Full Service? We can come in pack and prepare your local move from start to finish and you don’t have to lift a finger. Dishes and all loose items are packed and protected and made ready. Bed and furniture are prepared and protected
How to Save Money? You can prepare your move by packing loose items in boxes. Standard moving boxes are best — they are made with better cardboard — you can get them from a local truck rental service. If you have organized your move and packed, then all the mover needs to do is come in and load, drive and unload. This takes less time and your local move would cost you less money.

“Local Moves” in excess of 100 miles?
These “local moves” are actually considered long distance moves within the state. These moves are charged for by the pound. The more pounds you have, the better your rate per pound is. Sterling Van Lines makes weekly trips to Northern California (Bay area), San Diego and the desert (Palm Springs and beyond). These moves usually require 2 – 5 days from pick-up to delivery.
