Sterling Van Lines began over 30 years ago and was founded by Gerald (Jerry) Cassidy.
Mr. Cassidy began in the moving industry as a young teenager and learned the ropes of moving furniture, loading, packing and driving from the ground up. He graduated into running his own tractor trailer and worked as a mover for over 30 years, moving household goods for many major moving companies including Bekins and Mayflower. As a moving contractor Mr. Cassidy built up a fleet of movers doing household goods.
At the beginning of the 1990’s Mr. Cassidy saw the need for the moving of small shipments with the same service that full household goods moves receive – full service and blanket wrapped furniture delivered by professional movers and placed in the home. This was a service that was needed, and no one was servicing this type of move.
Sterling Van Lines became a pioneer in the small shipment business and has been servicing small loads ever since.
Each move is customized to fit each customer. Don’t be surprised to hear questions like, “is your flight of stairs a straight shot or does it take a turn in the middle?” Or, “is there a railing that needs to come off?” Or,” how wide is the door that a large piece might have to go through?” As you can see, the staff at Sterling goes the extra mile to take care of you.
