Moving to a new home is great – but the process itself is a daunting task. The worst part is that something always gets lost. No matter how careful you are something is always misplaced or left behind.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Here’s what you need to do:
Although this sounds like an obvious step, a lot of people don’t make a list thinking that they will remember it by heart. But that doesn’t happen. Create a separate list for every room and jot down what you want to take with you.
Don’t do everything at once, as you’ll definitely end up forgetting something. Start with one room and don’t stop until you’re completely done with that room, and only then can you move to another room.
If you have something super-sensitive like laptops or computer monitors make sure you pack that separately in a box to avoid any damage during transport.
Be specific. Label each box by the room in which the things are from, but not only that. You should also make a list of things in each box so that you may know what your ‘priority’ boxes are.
Last but not the least – the best way to remember all the boxes is to make a photo of them before the moving van arrives!
